Drew's Heckler 07'

Hi all,

Finally picked up my new Santa Cruz Heckler from BikeTreks in Ambleside last saturday....then took it for a blaze around Grizedale with Jamie and Mark.

To say that this bike is the b#@*#x is no word of a lie...just never ridden a bike like it. Very quick, responsive, sooo light (& v sexy to look at). Singletrack is a breeze (especially in comparison to a Hardrock Sport...lol). I've obviously shyed away from full sussers for too long, worried that they won't have enough feel of the trail, and that i'll feel like i'm riding a waterbed, but not the case at all!!

Even climbing is spot on. When i bought it I was reassured by the fact that i could pretty much lock out most of the suspension on climbs, but that just isn't necessary (in fact it probably slows you up more). Can i being saying this after years of support for my "rigid" Clockwork Orange??... Ah well, she'll have to do as a training / commuter bike...lol.

Think the time has arrived for me to actually get back out on the trail on a regular basis, cause this bike is so much fun..... Have had a permenant grin since buying it and didn't shut up about it last saturday, so expect more of the same in future...

What Mountain Bike? gave the Heckler 07' a 10/10.....i gotta agree with that....

The spec i went for included :

Pace RC41 Fighter 20mm axle forks, Chris King Ti Headset, Avid Juicy Ultimate's, XTR Group, Gravity Dropper Post, Chris King Hubs, Fizik Gobi Ti saddle, Thomson stem, DT rims, etc.

No expense spared.... Anyhoo, lets just say i'm pretty happy with it, and hope to see u all out on the trail soon (so i can show it orf)....

Speak soon,

Drew.
