Rothbury Carriageway Night Ride

Hello Dudes

This week we changed from the normal weekly Thrunton Night ride; Simonside Rider from the Retrobike forum took me & Si on a guided tour of the Rothbury carriageway (see the photo).

The route started with a huuuuuuuuge lung & leg busting climb out of Rothbury (Rothbury’s at the bottom of a valley!), not really sure where the route went, but there was plenty of snow\ice to keep you on your toes!!

Eventually we came to the Carriageway; the lights of Rothbury looked a long way down to our right.

We suddenly turned right and headed downhill!! What a QUALITY descent, there was rocks, drops, roots & mud and it was canny steep.
